Bronzed gift for US President Obama
After the mold is made and the precious metal is poured, the foundry makes the finishing touches on the castings .
Jay Williams' sculptor/nephew, Drew Williams sculpted the bas relief sculpture in clay. The photo on the left shows the very early stage of the sculptor's work.
Jay Williams meets with fine wood craftsman Rick Parr of Above Parr designs in Baltimore, Maryland to create the finest Black Walnut wooden case possible, to hold the two piece Bronzed set .

First step is to double check the fit of the pieces into a test case that was made to the exact dimensions prior to the building of the finely finished case.
The finished Bronzed pieces were carefully lowered by way of threads for the perfect embedding into the wooden case
A substantial Black Walnut wooded brace was designed to support the uniquely tilted case, as well as, to display an informational plaque.
The metal plaque on the back included the names of all students and the mentors who traveled to Washington DC in April of 2009.
